Erin and Jon

"All You Need Is Love"
When the Beatles churned out their iconic 1967 song during the Summer of Love the world became obsessed with all things British. Long before their time, Erin and Jon were diehard fans and thought it an appropriate theme for their Summer of Love wedding. It would prove to be their mission statement.

It’s no secret that orchestrating such an event can overwhelm brides with even the simplest of plans. I’ve heard it a thousand times from girls not wanting to make another decision… “I just want to get married!” Erin was one of those girls. A week before the wedding, all the planning and arrangements went out the proverbial window and an elopement was set into action. It would prove to be the best decision she would make.

A friend's beautiful home in Heber Valley became their makeshift venue…

Erin wore her mother’s dress (remade by Jon’s mother) and “Yes”… she would still like to carry a bouquet. No matter what… a bride deserves to feel like a princess on her wedding day and last year our English cousins showed us an example of how it’s royally done.

Like Kate Middleton, Erin chose all white delicate blooms that could have been freshly picked from an English garden.

If we learnt anything from the royals it would be a return to the era of romance. Our fascination with the ever popular Peony is still high on the list of romantic blooms. Pretty papery flowers like Ranunculus, with their tissue thin petals are surprisingly sturdy and Anemones, add drama to even the softest bouquet.

Ivory bell shaped Lily of the Valley along with Sweet Pea and Lilac, added a dose of feminine pretty while attending to the senses. The urge to smell a flower is so ingrained in us from our earliest experiences. There is something so incredibly nostalgic about a scent that will help you remember your wedding day for years to come.
Jolene (Jon's mother) made this twine wrapped ranunculus boutonniere on the way to the ceremony. Didn't she do a great job!

Side note- Jolene and I owned a wedding business called "Flourishes" many years ago before she came to her senses;)... I'm still learning:)

So if you find yourself not wanting to do a Will and Kate…not wanting to be the center of anyone’s universe but your own… picture Erin and Jon surrounded by their immediate families as they pledge their love to each other privately in a beautiful intimate ceremony.

I assure you having your princess moment doesn’t require having much of anything but the handsome prince,

because when it comes down to it…
really, the Beatles said it best…
